The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Monday launched a major demolition drive (action) in the Isanpur area, targeting 22 alleged illegal commercial structures.
Armed with JCB machines and demolition squads, the civic body removed unauthorized constructions (encroachments) along the busy road stretch from Mukesh Patel Hospital and Pramukh Apartment towards Vishalnagar.
The operation began in the morning under tight police security (protection) to maintain law and order. According to civic officials, this enforcement action is part of an ongoing campaign to clear illegal properties violating municipal regulations (rules).
Visuals from the site showed earthmovers razing portions of shops and commercial establishments. Authorities are yet to release a detailed statement regarding the exact area cleared or whether prior legal notices (warnings) were issued to the affected property owners.
